After showing of its magnificent little device, Panasonic has finally put a price tag and shipping date on its ultra tough 20-inch 4K tablet. The slate has been exhibited at the CES 2013 and at the Panasonic convention in France these past few months.
It also made an appearance at the IFA recently, where it was revealed that the tablet would be hitting store shelves in Europe soon. Well, now we know soon, in this case, means November.
Obviously, not a device for the average consumer, businesses and professionals in fields like engineering, architecture, planning, media and design will be most interested in this majestic tablet. The display on this little gizmo is a thing of joy.
Dubbed the Toughpad 4K UT-MB5, the tablet sports a 20-inch display with a pixel count that more than matches it. An absolutely massive resolution of 3840 by 2560 is serviced by graphics processing form a NVIDIA GeForce chip.
The machine run Windows 8.1, and Microsoft even highlighted this a few days back.
And considering this is a device custom designed for professionals, the Toughpad works great with the Panasonic wireless Electronic Touch Pen — an accessory that is an absolute necessity.
Under the hood, the tablet packs in an Intel Core i5 processor that is paired with 8GB of memory. 256GB of storage is more than decent for a device like this.
What may not be nearly as inviting is the price tag. The Toughpad 4K will not come cheap. As a matter of fact, it will set you back somewhere in the range of $6,000.
