Panasonic Toughpad 4K 20-Inch Windows Tablet Hits The US In January 2014

Been holding out for the massive 20-inch slate that Panasonic unveiled back at the CES 2013? Dubbed the Toughpad 4K UT-MB5, this is the first 4K tablet in the world, and it is coming to the United States in January, next year.

Panasonic already shared some availability and pricing details in September.

And now the company has announced specifics for the US market. Starting off, a quick rundown of what is on offer. First and foremost is the display — the most impressive of its kind, with a resolution of 3840 by 2560 pixels and wide viewing angles on an IPS Alpha LCD screen.

In simpler terms, you can be sure of the most stunning and crisp visuals money can buy.

Rance Poehler, the president of Panasonic System Communications Company, North America talked about the need of such a big and powerful slate:

“In our highly connected and visual world, having access to the best quality, most detailed visual information available can be a critical component of success in many field.

By delivering an unsurpassed level of image quality, running on an Intel vPro processor and using Microsoft’s most advanced operating system, the Toughpad 4K UT-MB5 tablet allows decision makers in various visual fields to view, share, manage and interpret information to drive their innovation.”

The device is powered by Windows 8.1 Pro, and is a perfect fit for creative professionals in fields like design, photography, video production, architecture and more that power with portability on the go, inside or outside the office.

Those interested can get their hands on the slate starting January 2014, but as expected the tablet will not come cheap. Panasonic has priced it at a clean and eye watering $5,999.
