heard, the device was heading for a January0 2014 launch. Well, February has come and gone, but no sign of this titanic slate yet. Luckily, there are some encouraging signs that point to the fact that the Panasonic 4K tablet could land in the hands of select retailers as early as next week. All good things, all good things. The device is not for the lighthearted — lion hearts are the target audience. Panasonic has set the suggested retail price for this impressive slate at $5,999, but chances are that a few retailers might sell it at a discount once it arrives, since this is a niche product. The model number for this variant is UT-MB5, the Toughpad 4K UT-MB5. You get a 20 inch screen with 3840 by 2560 pixels resolution, running an Intel Core i5 processor clocked at 1.9GHz. You also get 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD storage, while visual duties are left to the NVIDIA GeForce GT 745 graphics chip with 2GB of dedicated VRAM. And if these hardware specs leave you unimpressed, then Panasonic also plans to sell the Performance version of this slate that houses an Intel Core i7 processors and NVIDIA Quadro K1000 graphics unit. The Performance model will set you back $6,999, but on the flipside you will get 2.5 hours of battery life, compared to the mere 2 hours in the standard model. Imagine all the work you can do in those extra 30 minutes!]]>
