Microsoft has just taken its collaboration with popular social site Pinterest to the next level. Back in April, the company announced that Bing users could pin images found using its search engine to a Pinterest board.
Now, the technology titan is bringing Pinterest board to Bing image searches.
The Bing team announced this on the official Bing blog, detailing that this new feature displays a collection of images right alongside the search results:
“And today, we’re excited to announce Image collections for Bing image search, which brings together curated collections of images from around the web. Now, when you search for an image on Bing, you’ll notice related boards on Pinterest right alongside regular search results.”
The screenshot above shows this new integration in action.
Whenever you conduct an image search on a particular topic, you will also see related Pinterest boards on the right side of the search results. They are distinctively marked with a dark gray background, and clicking on any of these boards takes you to that page on the Pinterest site.
This feature should be particularly useful for users looking to find specific collections of say, apparel, hair styles, food, places, and other such things.
Now whether it transitions to Bing image searches from within Windows 8.1 has not been detailed.
Nevertheless, Redmond is sure to expand this helpful new feature with more image collection partners in the future. In fact, the blog post promises more on this in the months ahead, labeling this new addition as just the beginning.
