Japanese device maker Ramos is boldly going where no one has gone before. The company, famous for its affordable but nice looking tablets (iPad clones, actually), is preparing an exciting new model.
And the excitement comes from the fact that it is a Windows and Android dual-boot.
Rumors about this device floated up a few days back, and now we have some more juicy little details on this particular tablet that is expected to be called the Ramos i10 Pro. First off, it appears that this slate is powered by Intel’s new Bay Trail architecture.
These Atom processors support both Windows 8.1 Pro and Android, and offer the ability to easily switch between Android and Windows — the best of both worlds, as they say.
Anyways, the device has surfaced in some press renders that have recently been made public.
Hardware specifications of the device were so far wrapped up in mystery, but a leaked slide has shed some light on what the slate will pack. Customers will, it seems, have the ability to switch between Android 4.2 and Windows 8.1.
The processor that powers the tablet is a quad-core Intel Z3770D, built on a 22nm process. Clock rate is set appropriately high at 2.4GHz, and 2GB of RAM is onboard.
Storage options include 32GB and 64GB capacity. The 10-inch screen is expected to pack in a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, but ultimately this is one detail that is not yet clear. Either way, this device is fast becoming one to keep an eye on.
