Microsoft is currently going through a particularly interesting transformation, and perhaps the most notable of changes is its enhanced focus on directly connecting with end users and consumers.

The Redmond based technology titan loves to talk numbers — big numbers.

And now the company has just launched a special website what it calls “Microsoft by the Numbers”. As the name so evidently gives away, the technology titan showcases the latest statistics and figures concerning a variety of its latest products.

The design is based on the Windows 8.1 Start screen, complete with its very own Live Tiles.

All sorts of numbers are show here — from Windows 8 to Skype and SkyDrive, Bing, Windows Store and Xbox. And the figures are, shall we say, as astronomical as they get.

For example, the new website shows that Microsoft has sold 100 million Windows 8 licenses, the Windows Store has registered more than 250 million downloads up until now, Outlook.com has more than 400 million users.

Not to mention that Skype users spend around 2 billion minutes per day using the VoIP service.

And serious statistics are not the only ones on offer. Microsoft ends this on a funny note saying that no less than 554,000 pizza slices along with an additional 250,000 personal sized pizzas are consumed by hungry Microsoft employees in the company’s cafeterias.
