Research in Motion has slashed the price of its BlackBerry PlayBook for a limited time, offering all models (16 GB, 32GB and 64GB) for $299.99 through Feb. 4.

You can catch the sale now at the company’s Web site.

RIM hasn’t been doing that well in recent days and this is seem as just another move to try and get sales going in 2012.

What’s really interesting to me is how this dovetails with the results of a poll I put up on this site in 2011.

In the poll titled “Show of hands – how much should a Windows 8 tablet cost?”, we found that $200 to $249 and $249 and above were the most popular price points for a Windows tablet.

I have been really shocked by how quickly the tablet market is coming together.

Anyho, here’s the link to buy the Blackberry Playbook.
