Earlier today we mentioned that one video game studio was quite unhappy with the way they have been treated with their Windows RT-only gaming effort. So far the company has only made about $83 on its “Great Big War Game”. That said, there aren’t too many Windows RT devices on the market right now, but it isn’t just the dollar amount they are angry about. They didn’t expect it to magically sell well, they just hoped that Microsoft would help promote it within the store instead of just hiding it in a section of the store and ending the conversation. The good news for Rubicon is that Microsoft actually pays attention to its developers and consumers. As soon as they got word on Rubicon’s negative post, they reached out to work with the small developer. As a result, the developer has pulled off its negative anti-Windows RT response. Instead they now say: If anyone already read this post, it has had a very positive effect and Microsoft have graciously decided work with us to iron out the problems and get us past this incident. With a sense of fair play, I’m putting my grumpiness on hiatus and deleting the juicy bits. Which was all of it, sorry. Whether this means that Rubicon will still work with Windows RT in future games or not remains unseen. The big takeway is that Microsoft is listening, even if it doesn’t always seem like it. Responding to your customers and developers in a positive way certainly is a good way to gain allies and prove you stand behind your product. What do you think of Microsoft’s quick reach out in this situation? Was Rubicon justified in its complaints to begin with or not? [ source ]]]>

  • I wish MS would listen and lower the price of the Surface RT so I could give them to my friends for Christmas. Right now Seoul is the most beautiful place on earth…of course this is my opinion.

  • That was really BIG of Microsoft to reach out to a bitter, angry, prima donna. It shows how mature Microsoft is and how immature the Rubicon developer is. If only the developer could originally given constructive criticism and positive ways to solve his issue. The rest of the world would have never known what a complainer this developer is. Oh well….now we know!

  • Way to put yourself on the map. The game, I believe, isn’t all that bad, pretty good actually I’ve tried it on various other platforms.
Oh well, all’s well that ends in a well.
