video below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nFe_SWcq4Q It is actually against the Surface that Samsung stumbles, and stumbles badly. The ad shows an owner of Microsoft’s flagship tablet using a fictional battery dock (created especially for this ad), the keyboard attachment and mouse to work on the Surface slate. The notion being that Surface users can only work on their device with all these accessories. In fact, one of the Samsung tablet user asks the Surface guy to move his laptop a bit. Ouch. What’s wrong with using laptops, one may so ask, Samsung? Technology manufactures often poke fun at the competition, but this one went a little too far, and in the wrong direction too. Your thoughts on this very direct assault, people? Comment away!]]>

Why is Samsung promoting Surface in its advertisements?
What’s that saying? No publicity is bad publicity. I kind of agree with you here John. These “attacks” are just giving free advertising to the competition.
This ad is weak. That’s the best they can come up with. They attack Surface for using a keyboard and mouse, when the accessories they’re using don’t even look like the chargers and covers that Microsoft sales. Then they go after one particular Kindle model. Maybe they’re on to something with their retina attack, but consumers aren’t hearing that.
Weak ad, indeed. If people know anything about Surface, they’ll know that’s not true. Unfortunately, I think a lot of people are ignorant when it comes to the Surface.
This isn’t just because I like the surface and Microsoft, but this has to be one of the dumbest ads I’ve ever seen. Idiotic in so many different ways.
looks like samsung got a gigantic inflated sense of self and it flew away before they actually completed this
I think this is brilliant! Poking fun at the competition in a very entertaining way. The first ad for the surface had…guess what, a keyboard attachment advertised with it! Its poking fun at aspects of competitor devices that are their major selling points. Case in point Apples retina display and Kindles book capability. Of course its going to be biased but I love the cheek of it. If it has an HDMI out I’m getting one, it looks awesome!
