results from Basemark X (which is a cross-platform mobile benchmarking software solution from Rightmark that we talked about earlier this year) show the Lumia 1520 phablet in the lead when it comes to gaming performance. And this is marvelous, because Nokia’s device is powered by the 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processors, which is a few notches below the monster that powers the Galaxy S5. Samsung’s handset is running the 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip. Nokia’s phablet that was launched last year came in with a score that is 6 percent higher than the one for the Samsung Galaxy S5, enough to take the throne as the top gaming smartphone at the moment. Obviously, benchmarks are benchmarks, and not always indicative of the real world performance, but it does show just how optimized the Windows Phone platform is compared to how Android rolls. And well, since Nokia has now entered the hardware specifications race, this is a solid showing.]]>
