Now, that’s what you call an odyssey! Samsung took a while making its Odyssey headset available for purchase, after Acer, Dell and friends all launched their headsets last month.
But while the head mounted display was the one notable omission from the launch day picture of Windows Mixed Reality, it seems that this was the device people were looking to purchase. It went on sale today on the Microsoft Store, but it is already out of stock.
Hmmm.
Although a bit more expensive than other Windows Mixed Reality headsets, priced at $499, this Samsung creation packs a fancy AMOLED display with a resolution of 2880 x 1600 — notably better than the 1440 x 1440 resolution LCDs that the other headset house.
This is something that provides a relatively better viewing experience, compared to other headsets.
Add in the fact that the Samsung headset also comes with a pair of AKG headphones built-in, and you are looking at product that is spectacularly different from the competition. No wonder it has been well received by users.
Now, yes, while Samsung Odyssey may be out of stock at Microsoft Store online, if you are interested in getting your hands on it right away, you can try heading to a physical store location and giving the most expensive Windows Mixed Reality headset a try.
