Microsoft may have scheduled the BUILD developer conference for next month, but the company has planned a special little gathering in the heart of Redmond, Washington.
The agenda is to discuss various topics with some major business leaders that will be present.
This is the company’s 17th annual CEO Summit, and around 130 company heads are said to have gathered for this highly private affair — no live stream of any discussions at the event, and no direct coverage by the media.
In fact, Microsoft’s very own online newsroom has only a few details about the three day Summit, which actually started Tuesday. CEO Steve Ballmer will host a speech today. Here is a vague little description of what Ballmer will talk about in his speech:
“In this session, Steve Ballmer will discuss the most fundamental transformation in Microsoft’s history, as it shifts from a software manufacturer to a company that delivers devices and services people love and businesses need.
You will hear how Microsoft is challenging assumptions about what we do and how we do it, and explore the guiding principles that are applied in propelling the company in a bold new direction.”
The page only provides the names of a few of the other business leaders that will attend the CEO Summit. These include Berkshire Hathaway leader Warren Buffett and eBay President and CEO John Donahoe.
