spilled the beans on several new Nokia codenames, but as expected, no information on which devices they correspond to. Here are the names, by the way, including the continuation of the James Bond series:
“Nokia codename roundup: Ara, Leo, Moonraker, Onyx, Peridot, Superman, Tesla, and Vantage.”What a roundup! The Tesla codename holds particular interest. Could it be the new imaging flagship, the Lumia 1030? Intriguing to say the least. Obviously, the pop cultural references went into overdrive recently when the Finnish telecom giant used the codename of Batman, another DC Comics character, which ultimately ended up being the Lumia 1320. Superman, by the same token, might be the successor, the Lumia 1330. Moonraker, the eleventh film, continues the usage of names from the James Bond franchise. Nokia have previously used names like Moneypenny and Goldfinger. The bigger question here, though, is whether any of these eight new codenames refers to a Lumia tablet? The Lumia 2520 arrived on the market last year, so maybe another tablet device is on the cards.]]>

Haha. I wonder where they come up with these codenames. I mean, obviously they’re in reference to a superhero and james bond film, but how do they decide? Is there a board room discussion on what code name to give the new phone?
Funny observation, John. It is a little concerning that they may spend too much time worrying about codenames and forget to make the best product. Hopefully not.
Out of 8 codenames, you’d have to figure one of them will be a tablet. We’ll have to wait to find out, but my inkling is another tablet is in the works.
Same here. A successor to Lumia 2520, most definitely!
Onyx and Peridot are ashas, vantage, moonraker, and superman are lumias.
