Microsoft has released a weighty update for its latest Android device, the Surface Duo 2. The refresh includes a range of stability improvements to go with a bunch of new — and needed — features.
Equally importantly, this new update also comes with the June 2022 Android security bulletin, meaning the most recent security patches for the mobile OS are now available for the dual-screen handset as well.
Overall, the Duo 2 is in line to receive a lot with this new release.
As Microsoft details, one of the big new additions is that the Glance Bar now shows notifications for third-party apps. The Camera app settings also gets support for haptic feedback, while Slim Pen 2 automatic firmware is also updated when paired via Bluetooth.
Also on the cards is optimized charging, where the device automatically reduces battery degradation by preventing the rapid aging that takes place during charging. Thanks to this welcome new feature, the battery is gradually charged overnight.
This new update also enables Device Firmware Configuration Interface (DFCI) support to control device usage.
In addition to all this, Microsoft says that the update also comes with improved device stability, touch responsiveness, and camera usability. This makes it a must-have update for Surface Duo 2 owners who are sure to appreciate the new additions available.
