notes that the accessory will start shipping on Wednesday — provided all goes well, and it can get in more stock. The Surface Power Cover is, obviously, exclusively available at Microsoft Store website. First announced all the way back in October 2013, the company claims that this device can recharge the tablets and offer up an additional 70 percent more battery life, according to initial tests, that is. It only works with the Surface 2, the Surface Pro 2 and the original Surface Pro, though. Obviously, the tablets require special firmware updates (that Microsoft released as part of this month’s Patch Tuesday cycle) before they can be used for the first time. So if you have ordered the Surface Power Cover, then do make sure you install these updates first. The rest that are interested in buying the accessory will have to wait until Wednesday.]]>

I really wish they’d find a way to get these accessories under $100. I can find plenty of iPad covers/keyboards for under $100, of course none of these are power overs, but still
I think this is a very expensive product, so I’m a bit skeptical here. I think the odds are better than not that Microsoft just didn’t have a lot of Surface Power Covers in stock to create a “buzz” and “stir” about how popular it is. I’m going to wait and see the actual numbers.
They were selling this for, $200, correct? I’m astounded they found this many people willing to pay that kind of coin for this already. I want to wait and see how the reviews are and hopefully the price will go down as well.
