announcement details the accessory, and then some:
“The Surface Pro 3 Docking Station is a simple and elegant way to increase the utility of your Surface Pro 3—the tablet that can replace your laptop. With the Surface Pro 3 Docking Station, it’s also the tablet that can become your desktop.”Basically, the docking station turns your tablet into a fully featured PC that provides access to everything from external monitors, to keyboards, mice, printers and speakers, along with all sorts of USB devices. This, thanks to the three USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet port, a 3.5mm audio jack, one Mini DisplayPort connection, and a security clock slot — you can’t ask for more than this, really. You will need additional adapters if you want to connect monitors via HDMI, VGA or DVI connections. But that is understandable. Onto some physical dimensions, then. The Surface Pro 3 docking station measures 12.9 by 3.8 by 4.4 inches, and weighs in around 1.43 pounds, almost the weight of the tablet itself at 1.76 pounds.]]>

Will be very popular for businesses I’m guessing if they adopt the Surface Pro 3 as opposed to laptops. My company has a similar docking station for laptops, so I think this serves the same purpose.
Definitely going to be the ‘next computing device’ on everyone’s desktop here at work. Can’t wait. Now only if they’d fix the wireless issue once and for all.
