The Surface bandwagon makes another stop, and this time the destination is Mother Russia. Close enough. Microsoft is said to launch the RT version of its slate in Russia, at one of the country’s largest retail stores.

A look at Microsoft’s official Russian website shows that Surface RT tablet will become available for purchase this Thursday (April 4) in the M.Video retail store in Moscow. There is a high chance that Microsoft will look to bring it to new stores soon.

Pricing has not yet been announced, but is expected to be along the lines in other markets.

Microsoft is also planning to hold a launch day concert for the Surface RT in Moscow that is said to feature Ukrainian pop singer Vera Brezhneva. Sounds fairly enticing, considering the slate launched in some markets without much fanfare at all.

The Surface RT, obviously first launched in late October in eight markets, including United States.

February saw its retail availability expand to 13 more European countries, before Japan and New Zealand were added to the list of countries where buyers could get their hands on the company’s first tablet, around the middle of March.

While Redmond has been actively debut its consumer slate in more and more markets, Surface Pro, its high-end businesses oriented tablet is only just starting to expand its horizons.

The flagship tablet was only available in the United States and Canada up until yesterday. But the device saw its Chinese debut earlier today, at shall we say notably marked up prices.
