How to Launch It

  • Invoke the Start Screen by hitting Windows Key.
  • Search for the “Video” app tile. Clicking it will launch the app.
OR As an alternative, type “Video” on the Start Screen. The app will come up in the search result list. Clicking it will launch the app. The welcome screen of the app lists videos from Videos Library, as well as snapshots of the movies/series from Marketplace. Video app collects all its local data from Videos Library. So, whatever you want to play using Video app needs to be included in the Videos Library. However, playing locally stored videos is not the only function of the app. It also lists online movies and series which can be bought from the Marketplace through the app. Through the app, you can
  • View synopsis of a movie or series
  • Play trailer of a movie or series’ episode
  • Buy or rent a movie
  • Buy an episode, season or full series
Whatever you buy gets added to “My Videos” collection, which maintains your locally stored videos as well as the videos that you bought from the Marketplace. Whenever you play something using the Video app, the playing content automatically occupies full screen. It also provides big controls to play, pause, and skip the playing content.

Live Tile

This app can turn its tile live to show currently playing content. A live tile shows the name of the currently playing video.]]>
