news last week that UK cellular networks are choosing Windows Phone as the third platform of choice, we now have official plans from Three UK and its effort into pushing devices running Windows Phone to the front. The wireless carrier is determined to increase the display area of Windows Phone devices in all of its physical retail stores. In an interview, Three’s head of devices Brendan Arndt said:
“Windows Phone will take time to compete in the high-end as well as lower price points, but it is here to stay. Currently there is not a lot of space in store for Windows Phone but this year this will change, and we will stock a WP tablet, probably an eight-inch one.”So not just more display space for Windows phone handsets, but a tablet too! Microsoft’s mobile platform is increasing market share around the globe, and with plenty of new handsets primed for arrival in the coming months (hint, Windows Phone 8.1), new hardware manufacturers, and increased support from networks, the platform is going places, alright.]]>

Fahad, what’s the most popular phone in the UK? Is it pretty much the same as the States or is it different? Thanks!
To answer your question, Bill. I believe the iPhone is the most popular phone in the UK. Correct me if I’m wrong, Fahad, but I think the sales are pretty similar to the US.
The pound is more valuable than a dollar for a reason. This should certainly improve Microsoft’s bottom line. I’m sure headquarters is happy about this.
Good it’s about time more stop upholding the status quo
