“Office is a key franchise for enterprise customers and having it on iPad is good. We wholeheartedly welcome Microsoft to the App Store, and customers are responding very positively. If it had been done earlier, it would’ve been better for Microsoft.” You got that one right, Tim. But it must be said that there is every chance that Microsoft is aware of just how important releasing Office on iPad is — the Android tablet version of the suite is still nowhere to be seen, although it is said to be in development right now. Microsoft is also working on a completely touch based version of Office for Windows 8 devices, which many believe is heading for release sometime later this year.]]>

Is it just me or does Cook seem to be doing too much talking lately? It’s on iPad now, and it’s a runaway success, so in my eyes the question of should it have been released sooner is a moot point now
Valid point. Hindsight’s 20/20. The good news is it’s available now and clearly doing well. No need to 2nd guess.
Seems to me like Cookie Boy is a mute point.
Hard to blame Microsoft here. I had no idea that tablets would be this popular. I thought they were so dumb when they first were introduced. Boy was I wrong.
Agreed. I never thought tablets would change the technology world the way they did. I don’t blame Microsoft for being late to the party on this one.
I downloaded the office apps but didn’t use them yet. Download just in case I need only.
