And we have more information on upcoming Windows 8.1 products! Details for the Lenovo lineup of new and refreshed devices came our way recently, and now we have news of an 8-inch Toshiba tablet.
While Lenovo also has a small tablet or two in the pipeline, it seems to be focusing on convertibles, new form factor notebooks and all-in-ones for the Windows 8.1 launch window — meaning the September to November time frame.
Toshiba, on the other hand, is fully prepared to unleash its Windows 8.1 powered 8-incher.
Called Encore, the tablet is set for release this November, a few weeks after Microsoft’s newest operating system sees daylight, at a mouth-watering price of $329.99.
According to the company’s press release, the Toshiba Encore is 0.42 inches thick, weighs 16.9 ounces and has a perfectly serviceable display resolution of 1200 by 800 pixels. An Atom processor powers the device, though the specific variant of Intel’s low powered chip is currently unknown.
Same goes for the memory inside the Encore, but it is reasonable to expect at least 2GB of RAM.
Two cameras — eight megapixel on the back, two megapixel front facing — handle imaging. The device also comes with 32GB of storage, but a microSD card for additional storage is promised. And the slate will come with a free copy of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013.
Along with the official unveiling of the tablet, the hardware giant has also released details of the Satellite Click. This 13.3-inch notebook comes with a detachable display that lets it double up as a standalone tablet.
It is powered by an AMD 1GHz A4 APU and houses 4GB of memory and a 500 GB hard drive that is luckily built inside the screen. The keyboard dock also serves as an external battery for the Satellite Click, but there are no details on the battery time — with or without the dock.

More product choices is always good for us consumers. These companies really need to push their products hard over the next 6 months.
The Encore would have been a big seller if the resolution was 2500 x 1600. This would be the hottest seller out there.
