While the UK market has traditionally always been an important one for Microsoft, supply issues meant that the company had to wait a while before launching its Surface tablets in the country.
But now Redmond has launched a new promotion offer in the United Kingdom, and is offering Surface RT buyers an opportunity to get a Touch or Type Cover absolutely free of cost.
The promo page reads:
“Buy any model of Surface RT and get a Surface Touch or Surface Type Cover FREE. Please ensure you add your Surface Touch or Surface Type Cover to the cart when purchasing your Surface RT device to redeem the offer.”
The Surface RT holds a special place in the company’s history as its first ever tablet. Microsoft launched the slate late last year and it is powered by Windows RT — the company’s latest operating system specifically designed for tablets.
While initially suffering from some slight supply issues, the device has now started debuting in several important markets around the world. Surface RT is currently offered as two different models — with 32GB or 64GB of storage capacity.
The tablet can be paired with either a Touch or Type Cover.
This particular promotional offer for UK buyers is valid on all Surface RT purchases made between May 15, 2013 and June 30, 2013 through participating retailers. The 32GB model currently has a retail price of £399 — without a Touch Cover, of course.
But getting it for free only sweetens the deal if you are yet to buy the Surface RT. Surface Pro, the company’s deluxe tablet, is also set to make its debut in the UK market before the end of May.
