said that they were developing a new application for the iPad when they learnt that the device would not work nearly as well in the enterprise setting:

“We originally spent about a year trying to develop the application on the iPad. What we found was that it was not going to work in the enterprise setting. We weren’t able to achieve a lot of the functionality– such as interfacing with the legacy systems– that we could achieve with the Surface on Windows 8.”
Long story short, no less than 2,000 Surface Pro 3 tablets are now on order. Good going for the new slate, no doubt, and Microsoft would, obviously, like to see more companies ditch the iPad and Android tablets and transition to the Surface family. • The iPad would need a many apps to do it’s job. Syncing with old servers and legacy systems. The Surface Pro 3 has all of that capability built in with touch apps also. You can use it as a tablet, laptop, and desktop workstation with the dock. A great solution.
