The modern flavor of VLC will initially be only launched for the x86 and x64 versions of Windows 8.1, but the developers have confirmed that they are working on a Windows RT port, which should be here later in the year, along with a dedicated Windows Phone 8.1 version. So here we are, at the end of the journey, from the Kickstarter campaign back in late 2012 to early 2014. Let’s just hope nothing sinister happens between now and Monday. No point in asking whether any of you are excited. We should have full details next week.]]>

  • What is VLC doing that prevents it from running on Windows RT? All the Windows Store apps I have used run across x86, x64 and ARM.
