word that the highly anticipated update has started to go live in some parts of the globe. And now Vodafone Australia has become one of the first wireless carriers to confirm such a thing, revealing that they have already received the Windows Phone Blue update, and plan to start rolling it out for all Nokia Lumia smartphones on its portfolio — in due time. A late June or early July release has been confirmed. The company says that they have received the update for the Nokia Lumia 925 for now, which they are testing, but Windows Phone 8.1 for Lumia 625, 720, 820 and 1320 are also in the pipeline. Vodafone Australia further notes that it takes between 5 to 10 business days to test a major update like this, and it appears that users that purchased the Lumia 925 through the network’s retail channel will be the first to get upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1. Probably this week, if all goes well, or the start of next at most. With so much activity now going on, it is only a matter of time before Microsoft officially confirms the launch and properly introduces Windows Phone 8.1.]]>

  • Good for Microsoft. Just curious, what’s the breakdown on Phone devices in Australia? Is droid, apple, or windows phone leading?

    • I think it goes in the order you mentioned. Droid, apple, then windows phone. This move should help the windows phone increase their market share though.
