Gaming will become the top focus for Microsoft in just one week from now. Gamescom 2017 is set to get underway later this month in Cologne, Germany, and expectations are high from Redmond.
Not just for what it has in store for gaming on Windows 10, but the Xbox One X, too.
Which is sure to be in the spotlight at the world’s second largest gaming event — in terms of exhibition space and number of visitors. The Asia Game Show still rules the roost, but Gamescom is just as important as E3 for developers and publishers alike.
Anyway, the software titan has already hinted at what’s in store regarding the event itself.
Things kick off with a bang with a special Xbox @ Gamescom live show on Sunday, August 20.
And then on Monday, August 21, Microsoft will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the fan favorite Age of Empires franchise, with as special event to take a look at the history of the game on Windows PC. Be on the lookout to hear more about the upcoming beautiful remaster of the game, too.

Which looks set to be a Windows Store exclusive.
On Tuesday, August 22, the company will be holding an Xbox FanFest again at Gamescom 2017, and has promised to share more details on this event soon. Fans that are able to attend will also be able to get a hands-on with the Xbox One X at the Xbox booth at Gamescom 2017.
And to round things up, there will be plenty of new details and playable demos for the 42 new games that are coming to Xbox and Windows 10 including the likes of Forza Motorsport 7, and Sea of Thieves.
Gamescom 2017 will be held from August 22 to August 26.
And will be opened by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, marking a new history.
