Microsoft has released another build before heading off for Thanksgiving weekend, with Windows 10 build 17046 making its way to the Fast ring for Windows Insiders.
This is another build from the Redstone 4 development branch, and provides us with a glimpse of features that will be part of the next update to the operating system, slated to launch in spring of next year.
As usual, the software titan detailed what’s new in the blog post announcing this build.
First up are some new improvements for the Microsoft Edge web browser, which can now save and automatically fill your preferred information in forms. When filling a field on forms, like address or contact information, Edge will prompt you to save that information.
And you can use that saved information from a dropdown menu to complete all related fields.
In addition to that, Reading View now also gets the option to modify text spacing, just like when reading an EPUB ebook in Edge.
A pretty neat Windows Shell improvement is also part of the deal. You can now access advanced UWP app options right from the Start, as this new build brings a quick new way to get to these options. The company plans to add more such options in the near future.
As has been the case with recent builds, there are plenty of input improvements, too.
Including an overhaul of the emoji data for the touch keyboard, and typing certain words in any language will list the emoticons, which you can easily click or tap to insert into whatever you are typing.
And finally, it is now also possible to insert a bunch of emojis at once using the Emoji Panel.
A bunch of other keyboard improvements have also made the cut, the details of which you can find out at the link above. Overall, there is a lot to like here, with these refinements. Of course, the big new features are in development now, but before their debut, these handy additions are quite welcome.
Microsoft also suggests users to sign up for the Office Insider Program, as the Windows Insider team will be partnering up with the Office Insider team over the next few weeks to promote something fun.
