These are two of the most popular, more used Windows 10 apps. Microsoft has given the Mail and Calendar applications in its latest operating system the Fluent Design System treatment.

Windows Insiders have been testing these sleek looking apps for a couple of weeks now, but these applications are now finally making their way to all users.

Microsoft revealed the rollout in a post on its Office website, detailing that version 17.8700.40485.0 completely revamps the Windows 10 Mail and Calendar apps. This new design scheme adds a clean and stylish look throughout the experience.

You will now be able to see subtle acrylic and reveal effects on the hamburger menu of the apps, and a touch of light as you hover over the items in the list. A new borderless user interface has also made the cut that allows content to extend to the uppermost portions of the window.

As the changelog above reveals, hundreds of new colors are also added to brighten up your calendars.

Nice to see the Fluent Design System spreading to more and more applications in Windows 10. A lot of apps still remain, including what is probably the most used one, Settings. But that is definitely coming in Redstone 4 early next year.
