Microsoft has just pushed out a new version of the People app for Windows 10, one that adds in new functionality and touches up the user interface as well to the social program.
Or a contacts application, if you will.
The update brings the app up to v10.3.3472.0.
And firing up this new version, the first thing you will notice is that the app no longer uses the new and still under development, Fluent Design system. Instead, the application actually retains the colors of the main theme you are using.
Perhaps this is what users asked for, or maybe the software titan is experimenting a bit here.
Regardless, as noted, the side menu on the left now has two new listings added, namely “New contact” and “Filter the contact list”. In addition to this, email addresses and phone numbers are now displayed next to the contact names along the right side of the Home page.
A few other modifications are also included, alongside these big changes above.
We have an updated search bar, where a popup list shows the contacts you are looking for based on your search terms. Also new is improved contact sorting, and the application font has also been changed. A range of other bug fixes and optimizations complete the deal here.
The update is now available for everyone.
If your app has not automatically updated, you can grab it from the Microsoft Store, for use on your PC, smartphone, and HoloLens.
