Need some good news on Windows 10 Redstone 6? Well, you’re in the right place! Not only has the first build of this upcoming update been spotted, Microsoft has also opened up enrollments.
For those looking to test Redstone 6, now known as version 19H1, as Microsoft has moved beyond the Redstone codenames.
Or simply, the Windows 10 update that will be released in the spring of 2019.
But before we get to that, some housekeeping.
Redmond has entered the final development stages of the next Windows 10 update, codenamed Redstone 5, which is due this fall. The company is now starting to focus on what’s next for its operating system.
It then comes as no surprise that BuildFeed spotted the very first version of the Redstone 6 branch. The build in question is build 18200, and it has been compiled internally for testing purposes. But Windows Insiders will, obviously, be allowed to try it out very soon.
And then there’s the fact that the company announced some two weeks ago that it was going to reset the Skip Ahead subset of the Fast ring.
This is, as you may be aware, the portion of the Windows Insider Program that has limited availability. It is designed to allow Insiders to test the next version of Windows 10 after an upcoming feature update, while users enrolled in the standard Fast ring continue to test the current one.
Long story short, if you’re ready to get the first taste of the next feature update to Windows 10, codenamed 19H1, now is your chance to enroll in Skip Ahead.
Be warned though that the builds will likely be buggier, though on the flipside you will get new features sooner.
A fair tradeoff, don’t you say?
