Microsoft is busy with its BUILD 2018 conference, which kicked off today. Busy with announcing exciting new Windows 10 features that are coming to mobile platforms.

Namely, Android and iOS.

This has been made possible by the fact that Microsoft Launcher has picked up support for Windows Timeline, and the feature is now also available on the Edge web browser on Apple iOS. All this, as the company builds towards continuity between devices.

You may be aware that Timeline has been available as beta on Edge for iOS and Android for a couple of weeks now.

It basically comes out of beta testing today.

Users will be able to access websites that they have previously visited on their PC and other devices. It also works the other way around, and their Edge browsing will also show up in Timeline on their Windows 10 machines.

For Android, the Timeline feature is not just limited to websites on Edge, but users will also be able to launch documents that they were working on in Office, right from their Android phones.

Speaking of which, Microsoft has also announced Your Phone, which the company says is an UWP app that will connect your phone with your PC. It allows for a seamless transition of content between two devices, for things like messages, notifications and photos.

Your Phone App

As an example, you will be able to take a photo that is on your phone and drag it into a document without ever having to unlock your handset.

Shades of the Phone Companion app, yes, but this new application goes beyond that.

The app is available for download from the Microsoft Store here.
