As we said earlier, Windows 10x RTM is expected in a week or two.

Apparently, the OS will initially arrive for Intel-based computers, but Windows 10X will also land on ARM PCs eventually.

Apparently, Windows 10X will not be bound to any one particular architecture.

OEMs will be able to use the operating system on PCs with ARM chipsets, such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon etc

Windows 10X separates the core operating system from everything else and it’s optimized to run on hardware with low power CPUs.

Windows 10X on both Intel and ARM hardware will support PWAs, UWPs, and Microsoft Store apps. In addition, users will be able to use the Cloud PC technology to stream their desktop apps.

Windows 10X on ARM

Currently, there are some limitations to Windows 10 on ARM emulation.

It is unable to run 64-bit apps and struggles with intense multi-tasking but might be suitable for the education niche with low to mid-range devices.

At the end of the day, Microsoft will provide three platforms for consumers.

  • Windows 10
  • Windows 10x
  • Windows 10 on ARM

Consumers will be able to choose what works best for their individual use case.
