Another Wednesday, another new Windows 11 preview build. This time, we have access to build 25140, which has landed in the Dev channel of the Windows Insider Program.

And this one is high on bug fixes and plenty of changes, improvements, and refinements.

As you may be aware, this is part of the Sun Valley 3 development branch for Windows Insiders, which will be released as Windows 11 23H2. In other words, this is the operating system version that will be released in 2023.

So, for a version expected next year, this build is not too big on new features. However, there are plenty of bug fixes to go around for everyone, in addition to small changes and enhancements.

You can find the official blog post here.

The Windows development team lists one change and improvement: an update to the Euphemia typeface, which covers most languages that use the Canadian Syllabic script. This font now improves legibility and screen rendering of over 200 characters at various sizes.

For fixes, we have fixed an issue that was causing some people to see an unexpected error when copying files from network drives. We have also fixed a crash that could happen when switching modes in other panels.

Build 25140 also comes with a usual splattering of known issues that you may encounter. These have been collected and compiled towards the end of the announcement post, so give them a scan if you plan on deploying this particular build on your system.

No word in the blog post about the continued rollout of the tabbed File Explorer, which Microsoft is still testing as A/B.
