report reveals, Windows 8 actually lost ground last month. And this is something that happened to no other version of the operating system that are currently on the market. Stranger things have happened, no doubt, but still, this is oddly distracting. Net Applications data put Windows 8 at 5.93% in June, down 0.36% from the previous month. Throw in Windows 8.1 figures, and the modern operating platform came in at 12.54% overall — representing a decline of 0.1% from the previous month. Windows 2000, on the other hand, hit RTM in December 1999, and launched on February 17, 2000. And this classic operating system increased its market share from 0.01% to 0.03%. For some odd reason, a whole bunch of users decided to migrate to this platform. Sure, this is a small increase in the grand scheme of things, a very minor one. But it does show that the older versions of the OS are gaining users, while users are still somewhat reluctant to upgrade to modern ones like Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. Then again, no one ever said that the world of computing technology was a dull affair.]]>
