spotted the links and made them available for download — and since these are hosted on Microsoft’s very own servers these are the real deal and should be perfectly safe to deploy. Just make sure you back up your important data first before starting installation! And you obviously need a fully up-to-date Windows 8.1 system before you can deploy Update 1, so make sure you install all the previous rollups and patches that Microsoft has released up until now. Update 1 is currently available for both x86 and x64 systems, and Windows RT users, it seems, will have to wait for official release, which is scheduled for early April. The partial downloads aren’t working anymore. The only thing I’m able to get now is the mega
Sweet! Downloaded the Mega pack in less than an hour. There is an order to installing the six updates:

At least, this worked perfectly for me. If you are having any issues, I’d suggest that you uninstall what you have tried thus far (kb2919355, at least), and try it again in the order as listed above.
Note: Have patience on the second one (kb2919355), as it takes awhile. Get some coffee, walk the dog, pet the wife, etc.
I’ve finished installing it and it works fine. The main file has been removed, but the other updates still remain. You have to download the mega download to get the update now, I had installed the 4th update 3rd because I had to work for the mega download to get the main update file, but it works perfectly with no problem. The only annoying thing is that the update enable Boot to Desktop. The other annoying thing is closing apps with the X take you to the desktop, but I think there are instructions in that thread on how to get around that.
Yep, the closing apps and going to desktop is my only complaint. If you find out how to fix that @disqus_aUjJoK3PRk:disqus, let us know. I’ll do the same, like-wise.
It’s in the same settings as Boot Desktop. I disabled both “Go to desktop when you close an app” and “Show apps on the desktop” and it stop doing it. It might be “show apps on the taskbar”
