report comes from a reliable user, Faikee, who claims that the software titan has started preparations on a fresh set of improvements that would succeed Windows 8.1 Update 2 and bring even more changes to the platform. Not much follows in terms of details, though. Understandably. But with Windows 8.1 Update 2 estimated for arrival between August and September, it is only logical to expect some early work on the next refresh of the operating system to begin. Additionally, chances are that Update 3 might be here a few months before Windows 9 launches. The next full version is on track to be here by April 2015, and the third refresh could well launch in the February to March timeframe. What remains to be seen is whether this is the update that brings back the Start Menu for Windows 8.1 users, among other performance and feature improvements. Nevertheless, we are bound to hear more details about Update 2 and Update 3 in the coming months.]]>

  • Not much info on it yet, but still good news! I think what’s interesting is the start menu. Rumors have been floating 10 different ways, and I’m just curious as to which update or OS they’ll bring it back.

  • What will be the gap between 8.1 3 and windows 9? If it’s not that substantial, I wonder if it’s even worth working on this update. I guess we’ll see.
