The Windows 8.1 upgrade download is slow today. It starts out and has taken me almost 2 hours to download and I have a really fast connection.

So you start out in the Windows Store and see the screen below..

Upgrading Windows 8 to Windows 8.1

Then you click to update for free..

Upgrade-to-Windows-81-2

Then you start downloading

Upgrade-Windows81-3

And there you have it folks…

Still downloading.

It seems like there are a lot of people downloading this right now (to state the obvious)…

  • My entire download/install process took about 2.5 hours. Maybe about half of that was the download.

  • Or…, come over to Africa and live with the fact that it will be a slow download by default. Really guys, perhaps commenting on the actual product would be better, yes its slow but we all cant have everything now can we.
