  • This doesn’t look like something Microsoft would design.

  • Very nuanced and complicated at the same time. Beautiful use of color. If only they did the same thing with the f*cking logo.

Yes. Colors that have been stolen from the products themselves (Windows, Office, Visual Studio, etc.)

  • Dear Onuora,
Good packaging have proven help increase sales for the merchandise, it attracts the buyer desire to have them. From the first look at those packages a bright and dark for the basic color and our sight is directed to see through the windows where there’re so many color inside the room as if it was a painted beautifuly.
One look at those boxes, there are questions in my mind ” Where are the true Windows Logo color? Am I seeing things after being left on XP for a long time? Now the Windows logo become Indigo and White. If it is so then there’re so many progresses going on in Windows. I hope I’m not far left behind to follow Windows News. Thank you.

    • The logo on the front is vust variable for the packaging. The Windows 8 logo remains the same…

  • Hopefully there will be some tweak soon a later that will give the actual logo the beauty it deserves just like they have with the box.

  • Packaging and Marketing go hand in in hand. Hope this is especially true here as these show a lot of potential. MS has a lot of ground to make up for the garbage being spread by haters and change eversionists. More and more I see bloggists commenting on how after using Windows 8 long enough the things they at first hated so much really are not that bad. I think this is extremely true. Even those who say they dont mind change but dont like Windows 8 are in most cases in my opinion really unaware of their own issues. Windows 8 really takes getting used to and that is definitely a negative. I dont care what anyone says, you can not use it for 30 minutes and say you have tried it. Sure you can learn to use it in 30 minutes, but until the quirks work their way through you and you pick up the ways to really use it effectively, you will not get the real value. Once you start to get it, I think people will really love it. What other OS gives so much power right on the screen without wasting precious real estate? Charms are great at this. The complaint that Metro (sorry Windows 8 UI) takes up the whole screen and therefore hurts productivity is pure silly. Tell me, when you open a program in Start menu, are you really looking at open programs at the same time? 95 percent of all the complaints I have heard is either by someone who hates MS and is using the issue as a platform to spout their rhetoric, someone who is spouting opinions based on what they have heard, or has not truly given Windows 8 a fair shake. Now there may be a few people out there that truly have tried Windows 8 but still not fond of it, there are all kinds of people to be sure. But after all my experience with Windows 8, I think this will be a very small portion of the population.
