How to Launch It

  • Invoke the Start Screen by hitting Windows Key.
  • Search for the “Music” app tile. Clicking it will launch the app.
OR As an alternative, type “Music” on the Start Screen. The app will come up in the search result list. Clicking it will launch the app. The welcome screen of the app lists music from Music Library, as well as snapshots of the albums and artists from Marketplace. Music app collects its data solely from Music Library of Windows. So, you need to add your music to the library in order to make it usable by the app. However, playing locally stored music is not the only function of the app. It also lists singles and albums hosted by Marketplace. Through the app, you can
  • View synopsis of an artist/album
  • Preview the songs
  • Buy a single song or a whole album
Whatever you buy gets added to “My Music” collection, which maintains your locally stored videos as well as the videos that you bought from the Marketplace.

Live Tile

This app implements the concept of live tile. A live tile displays the currently playing song, as well as its album name. ]]>
