It goes without saying that the Start Screen of Windows Blue will perhaps the widest array of customization options, as Microsoft seems focused on refining this aspect of its upcoming operating system.
And one thing the software titan seems to have done is increase the number of Live Tiles rows.
According to a report over at WinBeta, the Start Screen in Windows 8.1 will have the possibility to accommodate up to 9 different rows of tiles — most likely in the bid to provide users with more power to easily manage their installed Metro apps.
This particular feature was spotted in a company demo at TechEd, as can be seen from the photo above. Though it is not yet clear if Microsoft plans to bring this feature in all versions of its upcoming operating system, or it is going to be exclusive to the enterprise version of Windows Blue.
Additionally, the Start Screen in Windows Blue is going to offer a few more improvements like more color customization options, as well as static and animated tattoos, quite similar to the Dreamscenes tool that was implemented in Windows Vista.
More details on this are set to surface at the BUILD developer conference later this month.
