nine new hardware partners for its Windows Phone platform (everyone from Lenovo to LG and ZTE), the future strategy of current hardware partners remains rather vague. Sure, Nokia will bring around a bunch of new smartphones in the next few months, but what the other three partners are cooking up has remained stuff of rumors, up until now. Nevertheless, out of those three, HTC has lifted the veil of ambiguity, and confirmed plans to launch new HTC Windows Phones. This was confirmed by Jason Mackenzie, the president of HTC America, who settled the matter saying that the platform remains in the company roadmap. As to when we can see new Windows Phone powered smartphones from HTC, though, there is no indication. Chances are that they might arrive in the second half of the year. Microsoft plans formally announce Windows Phone 8.1 at the BUILD developer conference in April, and it is very likely that HTC (along with other partners) will consider launching new device soon after that.]]>

Thats nice, but the one I’m really interested in (besides Nokia) is Lenovo. Now since Lenovo bought Motorola does that mean a Motorola Windows Phone is coming out? That would be interesting. If I had to choose I’d probably still buy a Nokia unless the Lenovo phone is exceptional.
Yeah, Lenovo and Sony (when it joins) could be the real game changers for Windows Phone. Probably even as important as Nokia, if they play their cards right.
Both companies have the resources to pull it off, surely.
The main things that make the Nokia phones special is the Nokia apps (which I think are coming to all phones), the screen that you can see in the sun, the sound and of course the amazing camera. If Lenovo could make their phone stand out that would be great.
Agreed. I think it will come to it in the top tier, high-end market. Companies will just have to bring their A-game.
Nokia apps on all phones would be a game changer. But I think another one other than there being a phone from all manufactuers, would be for it be on all carriers. Android is killing in the non-major market.
I just hope they put more muscle behind their phones than the first time around. HTC has a habit of not standing behind their prodcuts. They had what was accepted as the best Android phone out there, and they couldn’t even push THAT enough to make it a success. I don’t think I ever remember seeing any HTC One or 8X commercials or promotions. Maybe these companies need to edit into some marketing assitance contact with Microsoft, where MS helps them push their phones
