gushed;

You’ve told us loud and clear that you want fewer distractions when it comes to email. You want to quickly login, communicate, and get on with your day. And we’ve listened. Starting today, the new Yahoo! Mail is fast, easy and available anywhere you go. These improvements will be available on all major platforms: Web, Windows 8, iPhone/iPod touch and Android.
With Microsoft evolving hotmail to outlook.com and gmail constantly improving, Yahoo needed at the very least to upgrade their offering. Mayer continues;
We’ve redesigned the new version of Yahoo! Mail with speed in mind — getting through your emails is faster than ever before. We’ve also made your inbox more intuitive and easier to navigate, allowing you to focus on what matters most: your messages. And, because mobile is everything these days, Yahoo! Mail now has a consistent look and feel across devices.
PC Magazine adds;
The new Yahoo Mail apps for mobile devices let you access your inbox with just one tap, according to descriptions in Apple’s App Store and Google Play. There’s also continuous scroll functionality so you can scan the messages in your inbox without interruption. When composing a message, the app auto-completes email addresses as you type. When you need to add an image, the app will let you attach photos or take new one while composing a message, and also preview photo thumbnails right at the top of a message. On the organization front, swiping left on any message will let you delete, flag, move, or mark it as read. Or, you can select multiple messages in your inbox for even faster organization. When looking for a message, the app lets you search through all messages across folders.
Most folks I know use gmail and I’d be interested to hear what you think about the new Yahoo! Mail. Is it too little, too late?]]>
