confirmed that this new version would be available this week. Two updates are actually rolling out — one is 12400.899, a small refresh that brings all developer preview handsets up to date. Redmond halted delivery due to some BitLocker issues, but now it is rolling this out for everybody. Version 14147.180, on the other hand, is the real deal, the update you are looking for to upgrade your devices to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1. Or as it was previously known, GDR1. This is the first upgrade for the new mobile operating system that launched earlier this year, and only just started arriving on smartphones across the globe. Update 1 brings several new features to the platform, including elements like Live Folders, a number of vital improvements to Internet Explorer 11, and Cortana for new markets like UK and China. Microsoft detailed all the new features in the original announcement. It is set to become available to all users in the coming months. But, obviously, those of you that are enrolled in the developer preview program can try it now. Signing up to this service is free, and is a perfectly great way to be running the latest versions of the OS. Anyway, if you are deploying, have installed, or plan to download Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, then be sure to leave your comments about this new version of the platform below. Liking what you see? My update is almost done
Please let me know how it is! I am waiting a few days to download this.
I’m debating on it. I don’t even have Cyan yet on my Lumia Icon.
I got the update and so far so good for me. Do you agree Ray C?
the folders is well made, but Cortana atm just the standard bing voice search and not the whole singing and dancing US version.
other than that, i cant think of anything else noticeable….
